Senior Journalists Felicitated; Poets Captivate Audience with Powerful Performances Till Late Night
A unique blend of literature, journalism, and social commitment was witnessed at the Kavi Sammelan (poetry conference) and Senior Journalists Felicitation Ceremony organized at Agrawal Dharamshala in Kheragarh.
Agra: The Rural Journalists Association, Agra District Unit, celebrated the 39th death anniversary of its founder, Late Babu Baleshwar Lal, as Rural Journalism Day with great dignity and grandeur. The event featured a poetic symposium and a grand felicitation ceremony for senior journalists, bringing together journalism, literature, and social awareness on one platform.
The program witnessed an overwhelming presence of journalists, public representatives, social workers, and distinguished citizens from various regions, making the event memorable and historic. The ceremony was inaugurated by District Panchayat Chairperson Mrs. Manju Bhadauria through ribbon-cutting and lamp-lighting rituals. BJP District President Prashant Poniya, District Information Officer Shailendra Sharma, Braj Region NGO Cell Coordinator Digambar Singh Dhakare, Kheragarh Chairman Sudhir Garg, and Jagner Chairman Kuldeep Garg attended as special guests.
Rural Journalists Association District President Vishnu Sikarwar warmly welcomed all guests with garlands and mementos. Rajkumar Mangal, President of Agrawal Samaj Kheragarh, and Dalip Garg, President of Agrasen Seva Samiti, were also prominently present.
Shyam Sundar Parashar’s Anchoring Added New Energy
The event was effectively hosted by Shyam Sundar Parashar, Co-Incharge of the Rajasthan Unit of the Rural Journalists Association. His energetic and impactful presentation style kept the audience engaged throughout the evening. Poets from different regions delivered remarkable performances filled with humor, patriotism, inspiration, and social awareness. The audience responded with continuous applause as the poetry session continued late into the night.
“Journalists Are the Strong Voice of Democracy” - Manju Bhadauria
Chief Guest Mrs. Manju Bhadauria praised the Rural Journalists Association for its continuous efforts toward journalists’ welfare and social causes. She said that District President Vishnu Sikarwar has been consistently working for the resolution of journalists’ issues and strengthening the organization. She also assured that the association would soon be provided a permanent place for meetings and organizational activities. Emphasizing the importance of journalism, she stated that journalists are a strong pillar of democracy and ensuring better facilities for them is society’s responsibility.
“Rural Journalists Are the True Voice of Society” - Prashant Poniya
BJP District President Prashant Poniya said that rural journalists play a vital role in conveying the voice of society to the administration and government. He appreciated the organization for guiding society in a positive direction through social and cultural activities.
“The Organization Has Established a Distinct Identity Across the State” - Shailendra Sharma
District Information Officer Shailendra Sharma remarked that the Rural Journalists Association has earned a unique identity throughout the state. He praised the leadership of Vishnu Sikarwar, highlighting the organization’s commendable work in journalism welfare, social service, and cultural activities. Referring to the association’s active participation in major events like Taj Mahotsav and Bateshwar Fair, he stated that the organization has become a strong medium for positive social change beyond journalism.
Grand Felicitation of Senior Journalists
During the ceremony, District Information Officer Shailendra Sharma was specially honored with a shawl and citation for his outstanding contributions. Senior journalists Rajendra Shukla, Om Prakash Savita, Suresh Jarolia, and Shameem Siddiqui were also felicitated with shawls and certificates of appreciation for their long-standing contribution to journalism. The auditorium echoed with applause during the honor ceremony.
Commitment Towards Social Service and Journalist Welfare
In the concluding session, District President Vishnu Sikarwar expressed gratitude to all guests, journalists, doctors, and local residents. He affirmed that the Rural Journalists Association would continue organizing programs dedicated to social service, journalists’ welfare, and public interest in the future as well. The event concluded with the National Anthem in a cordial and harmonious atmosphere, attended by a large number of journalists, social workers, and eminent citizens.
